Joseph Pendarvis, probably a member of the Pendarvis family of Cornwall County, England, arrived at Port Royal, South Carolina, in 1670. He was granted land at Charlestown, South Carolina, in 1682. His will, written in 1694, named two daughters and a son. Descendants of his son, John Pendarvis, listed lived in South Carolina and elsewhere.
